Presentation Title:

Diabetes (DM2) reversed and eAG ↔ A1c conversion simplified

Abstract

Different types of diabetes will be reviewed.

A way to control and reverse diabetes mellitus type-2 (DM2) that was conceived, formulated, developed and successfully implemented by this presenter, Dr. Kavipurapu will be detailed.

Dr. Kavipurapu premise and perception had been that the increase in blood glucose levels in DM2s is mostly due to over eating to the extent that the body’s endogenous insulin cannot handle it any more. Even if people ↓ or eliminate starchy or sugary foods and eat mostly protein and/or fatty foods, the body can make glucose from protein and fat via gluconeogenesis. Therefore, the main principle in this research to control and reverse DM2 was: if blood glucose (BG) before the meal is very high (≥ 200), skip the meal, but take the DM2 medicine(s) and if BG is too low (≤70), skip DM2 medicine(s) but consume food.

It would be shown how previously uncontrolled DM2 BG & A1c values were not only bettered but also was reversed to be within normal limits in some patients.

The advantages of this BG control method for patients are:

1. No need-to-know what type of foods and what percentages of starchy, fatty and protein foods, they have to eat,

2. No need for counting calories,

3. Can eat the same types of food they have been eating,

4. No need to go through diabetic education classes,

5. No need to add more oral or injectable diabetic medicines.

6. Current diabetic medicines can either be tapered off or taken off if patient complies and if BGs are controlled to be within normal range.

Patients who participated and successfully controlled/reversed their diabetes included those with CKD, on supplemental O2, a former gestational diabetic who subsequently became DM2, and those who were frustrated with previous providers because they either kept increasing the medication doses or adding more and more DM medicines and still were unable to control the BGs.

Simplified formulae for conversion form/to eAG (mg/dL) A1c (%) or vice versa were created by this lecturer. They will also be presented.
